Aluminum
Aluminum is widely used in a variety of applications due to its excellent corrosion-resistant properties and formability. Common applications include cookware, appliances, construction, HVAC, lighting, truck bodies, roofing, electrical, and marine.
Century Metals offers aluminum in a wide range of alloys to adhere to the specific manufacturing requirements of our customers. We inventory alloys such as 1100 (commercially pure), 3003 (general purpose and the most popular alloy), 5052 (excellent combination of strength and formability), 6061 (structural grade), and 7075 (high strength).
We offer mill-finished and painted coil and sheet as well as a broad array of extruded shapes in bar, tube, and pipe. We process our coil in-house to the specific requirements of our customers, and we stock a broad variety of common pattern sheet sizes.
Copper
Copper is the preferred material for the power industry due its excellent electrical conductivity, tensile strength, ductility, malleability, and soldering properties.
Century Metals distributes copper flat bar, rod, and sheet manufactured to the standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), specifically B187 and B152.
Our main inventory consists of copper C11000 (ETP), C14500 (tellurium copper), brass (zinc alloy), and bronze (tin alloy). We maintain an inventory of copper bus bars, both rectangular and square, with round or square edges, all in annealed, half, or full hard condition.
Galvalume
Galvalume is carbon steel coated with a nominal coating composition of 55% aluminum and 45% zinc, as well as a small addition of silicon.
Galvalume combines the excellent barrier corrosion protection of aluminum with the galvanic protection of zinc. The result is a coating that has excellent long-term durability. It even provides cut-edge protection along sheared edges and therefore offers excellent protection when long-term resistance to atmospheric corrosion is desired. These attributes make Galvalume the preferred material for roofing and siding.
Century Metals offers this material according to each customer’s exacting specifications regarding thickness, width, hardness, and chemical and mechanic properties. It is also available prepainted in a variety of colors and paint systems and can be custom cut or slit, in our local facilities, in a variety of ways to add efficiency to your manufacturing process.
Galvanized
Galvanized steel is carbon steel with a protective zinc coating applied by a continuous hot-dip process where the steel is submerged in a bath of molten zinc. This coating protects the steel substrate by acting as a protective barrier between the steel and atmospheric corrosives. It is commonly used in many industries, including HVAC, automotive, electrical, roofing, construction, and custom enclosures.
Century Metals offers this material in standard industry condition as well as with customer-specified chemical and mechanical properties. It is also available prepainted in your specific color and preferred paint system. Our galvanized sheet is procured in coil form and can be cut or slit to match your specific requirements.
Steel
Steel is an alloy of iron and, primarily, carbon. A host of other elements can be added in varying quantities to produce certain chemical and mechanical properties for specified applications. Steel is a major component in buildings, infrastructure, tools, ships, automobiles, machines, equipment, and appliances.
Century Metals handles hot rolled and cold rolled steel in sheet, plate, and coil as well as tube and bar. We tailor our inventory to meet the special needs of our customers and the products they manufacture. Special widths, lengths, and thicknesses are all part of the service we offer through our mill partners and our in-house processing equipment.
Stainless steel
Century Metals provides this corrosion-resistant material in many different alloys, including 200, 300, and 400 series, for a variety of applications. Stainless steel is used in the manufacturing of appliances, elevators, cookware, and surgical instruments as well as in industrial equipment for the pharmaceutical, food, and transport industries.
Our product mix includes coil, sheet, plate, bar, and tubing. We tailor our inventory to meet the special needs of our customers by providing custom sheet and coil dimensions, specific mechanical and chemical properties, and a variety of architectural finishes and custom polishes.
